Mark R. Paiste, D.O., earned his medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2006. He completed his surgical internship and orthopedic surgery residency at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2011. Dr. Paiste obtained subspecialty training by completing a fellowship in Hand, Upper Extremity, and Microvascular Surgery at Rutgers University, Newark, NJ in 2012. He has also contributed to several orthopedic research papers.

In his practice, Dr. Paiste specializes in traumatic and degenerative disorders of the hand, wrist, and upper extremity. Dr. Paiste also practices general orthopedic and arthroscopic surgery. Dr. Paiste offers platelet rich plasma biologic injection options for a variety of conditions. In addition, Dr. Paiste administers the Xiaflex injection in the treatment of Dupuytren’s disease.
Dr. Paiste is board certified in Orthopedic Surgery by the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgery. He is a member of the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics and the American Osteopathic Association. He is also affiliated with the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, American Society for Surgery of the Hand, and the American Association for Hand Surgery.

Dr. Paiste was voted one of SJ Magazine’s “Top Docs” in Hand Surgery on two occasions. In addition, he was featured in South Jersey Magazine, “Tales of Triumph”, as the hand surgeon collaborating with a team of other physicians in the case of a critically ill patient with a severe infection. The patient survived and had an excellent outcome.
Prior to pursuing medical school, Dr. Paiste graduated from Widener University with a mechanical engineering degree in 1996. He served as a mechanical design engineer at numerous companies including ConMed Linvatec and Synthes, which are global leaders in the design and manufacture of orthopedic surgical implants and instruments. During his employment at ConMed Linvatec, he became the co-inventor of an innovative surgical device and technique for use in the repair of torn rotator cuff tendons and instability of the shoulder. Dr. Paiste continues to utilize his engineering and surgical skills to develop innovative and less invasive approaches to treatment.
Dr. Paiste is a native of the Philadelphia area and he resides in Montgomery County. His personal interests include physical fitness and nutrition, marine sea life, football, and graphic illustration. He is also an automotive enthusiast, especially for Corvettes.
